Cielo Lee | Fashion Illustrator and Artist

Cielo Lee is a Taipei-based fashion illustrator and artist who comes from a 20 year background in fashion design. She has gained a wide range of experience by working with fashion houses for men and women’s textile and pattern design, as well as apparel design. Through her collaborations with brands in Europe, the USA, and other corners of the world, she has mastered the ability to see fashion from different perspectives and add a distinctive flavor to her illustrations.

| CAREER JOURNEY

In 2018, Cielo began working as a part time illustration instructor at Ming Chung University in Taiwan. This is where she began to learn about how much art could help her see the things she was never aware of in herself, as well as her own inner fears. The opportunity to teach has influenced her life dramatically, as she is now working towards becoming a full time artist. She recently made this decision within the past 2 years, as she’s been focusing on her personal development alongside the continuation of the coronavirus pandemic.

| WORDS OF WISDOM

Her inspiration is found in the sights and objects that surround her, which include anything from: the texture of fabrics, the structure of buildings, costumes, nature, or the current global environment. Cielo mentioned to us that her latest life mantra has been to “trust her soul”.  She tells herself, “if I am doing something to satisfy myself, then I have to go for it, regardless if there is a storm or unexpected events happening in between. As I am on my way to becoming a full time artist (from a designer), I've learned that if you are really good at something, make the most of it!!”
