Nicole B. is a fashion, portrait, and editorial photographer who takes her inspiration from fashion magazines, art gallery paintings, and most importantly, music. After starting photography at 12 years old, Nicole’s life events caused her to drop her passion of creating visuals. But this hasn’t held her back, as she has now picked up photography again after 11 years, and aspires to stay true to herself and her calling. 

| DESIGN PROCESS

While listening to her favorite songs, Nicole’s imagination automatically shoots out vivid visuals. And on her Instagram gallery, she documents these melodies by following up her photos with a video “reel” that is dedicated to the song that inspired the shoot. These projects are influenced by Italian art, most notably Sandro Botticelli’s pieces: The Birth of Venus and Primavera. But as previously mentioned, she is also driven by fashion and music, as she takes inspiration from publications such as Vogue, W, Vanity Fair and Harpers Bazaar, as well as genres like Indie Rock. 

| WORDS OF WISDOM

A quote from one of her favorite books: “When I look at my life and its secret colors, I feel like bursting into tears”, reminds her in each waking moment that everything around her is both photo worthy and mesmerizing. Nicole runs on two articles of advice: “don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what to do with your life”, and “be careful whose advice you buy, while being patient with those who supply it”.
