Katherine Berg is the CEO, founder, and curator of Creating Freely Magazine. During her formative years, Katherine was discouraged from fully embracing her creative side in favor of following a more “guaranteed” career path. However, after graduating from college, she inevitably turned to her lifelong passion for artistic expression, after owning the fact that she was better off using her talents elsewhere, rather than climbing the corporate ladder. Meanwhile, since reigniting her passion and starting an art career, Katherine’s works have featured a colorful mixture of drama and glamour – with subtle additions ranging from historical time-periods and high fashion references, to abstract ideas of surrealism.

| PURPOSE

A woman of many talents with conscientious attention to detail, Katherine’s sphere of influence covers fields in both art and fashion, with expertise in creative directing, curation, costume design, styling, makeup artistry, and singing. Katherine sustains this unparalleled work ethic because she finds joy and fulfillment in her artistic endeavors, alongside her insatiable appetite for completing numerous projects.

| WORDS OF WISDOM

To unlock creativity, Katherine encourages every artist to deeply get to know themselves, “take time in isolation to learn about yourself, your true interests and objections. We all need to reduce the time we spend worrying about and surrounding ourselves with the opinions of others”.  In addition, another essential lesson she learned on her journey as a creative is that every artist needs to trust themselves and their craft more. She recited one of her favorite quotes by Alan Watts, “Man suffers only because he takes seriously what the gods made for fun”, or in her words, “fuck it!”
